Graverobber Blues Launch Party (&Halloween Party)

I was fortunate enough to be able to get together with some of my closest friends and supporters to celebrate the launch of my debut novel, Graverobber Blues. I know that there are few people who really care about the launch of this book, but it’s such a huge milestone for me. Over a year and a half of work went into creating this novel and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. Taking this opportunity to celebrate it was everything I have worked for and it brought me so much joy to share that moment with my friends.

We wore costumes and listened to spooky music as we ate a candle-lit dinner for extra ambiance. I even did a tarot reading for the table, looking into the year ahead! It was a blast.

My friend Uriah made the charcuterie cemetery, my friend Mellissa made the bloody beet and jicama cold salad, and my friend Kim made some delicious gluten free bread sticks shaped like bones (not pictured).

We drank mulled cider and those of us who imbibed added some cheap champagne to make mulled cider mimosas.

I made some hand pie voodoo dolls with cranberry filling which were a huge hit! I also made this Mediterranean rice stuffed in a pie pumpkin which was a new kind of recipe for me that I ended up enjoying a lot.

The cake I made was inspired by this Rise From The Dead Cake that I found on Pinterest (one of my few addictions, lol). The cookies and decor I took from the first recipe and the interior cake I took from this recipe, Meringue Bone Palace Halloween Cake. I used this Mocha Buttercream Frosting recipe for the crumb coat and a standard dark chocolate frosting for the over layer. Then for an added little touch, I made this edible cake moss.
